Nature of Business
Michi & Co is a South African online retailer of handbags and interchangeable handbag accessories, including straps, chains, charms and related fashion accessories.
Products may be purchased individually or selected in combinations to create a customised handbag look.
Product Images, Colours, Textures & Natural Variations
Michi & Co makes every reasonable effort to ensure that product photographs, descriptions, colours and specifications displayed on our website are as accurate as possible.
However, because of differences in photography, lighting, screen settings, manufacturing batches and materials, minor variations in colour, shade, texture, grain, pattern placement, stitching, hardware finish or other small cosmetic details may occur.
For patterned products, including animal prints and other patterned materials, the exact positioning of the pattern may vary from one item to another.
These minor variations are considered a normal characteristic of the product and will not ordinarily constitute a defect, provided that the item supplied remains materially consistent with its advertised description, quality, style, size and overall appearance.
Nothing in this provision limits a customer's statutory rights where a product is materially different from the product ordered or advertised.
Stock Availability & Similar Alternatives
All products are subject to availability.
On rare occasions, an item may become unavailable after an order has been placed due to supplier availability, stock discrepancies or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where the exact item ordered is unavailable, Michi & Co may offer the customer a visually similar alternative of the same or comparable quality, size, function and value.
Where reasonably possible, the alternative will closely match the original item's:
- colour and overall appearance;
- dimensions or size;
- material and finish;
- hardware;
- quality; and
- intended use.
A substitute item will not be sent where the difference is material without first obtaining the customer's agreement.
The customer may choose to:
- accept the proposed alternative;
- select another available product of equivalent value; or
- receive the applicable refund where the ordered product cannot be supplied.
If an alternative of a higher value is offered at no additional charge, the customer will not be required to pay the difference unless this is expressly agreed beforehand.
Prices and Payment
All prices displayed on this website are in South African Rand (ZAR).
Any applicable delivery charges will be displayed before an order is completed.
Payment may be made using the payment methods available at checkout. An order will only be treated as successfully paid once payment has been confirmed by the applicable payment provider.
Shipping
Michi & Co currently delivers within South Africa only.
Our standard delivery timeframe is 8–12 business days.
Standard shipping is R100 nationwide.
Free shipping applies to:
- Full Custom Bags consisting of one bag + one strap + one chain + one charm; or
- Orders with a total value of R600 or more.

Returns, Refunds and Cancellations
Returns, refunds, damaged goods and incorrect orders are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Michi & Co does not provide additional voluntary change-of-mind refunds or exchanges beyond rights available to consumers under applicable South African law.
Visible damage, breakage on delivery or incorrectly supplied items should be reported to team@michico.co.za within 24 hours of delivery, together with photographs of the product and, where applicable, its packaging.
Customers retain any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African consumer legislation.
